DELOREAN

Dancier x Weltmeyer

2011 | HANN Stallion | Black | 16.2hh

A pedigree full of classic greats – De Niro, Weltmeyer,
Argentan, Lauries Crusader XX, and Ludendorff.

Delorean is by Dancier, a magnificent black stallion, sired by De Niro (by Donnerhall), out of a line of State Premium Hanoverian mares.

Dancier is a full brother to the dam of Tokyo Olympic Horse Heiline’s Danciera. Dancier is already the sire of over 30 Grand Prix competitors and over 50approved stallion sons. Recently his son Danciano has made a return to the competition ring at Grand Prix, and is already a highly successful breeding stallion. Other notable 5* GP offspring include Duenensee, Harmony’s Don Noblesse, and Delacroix II. Danciano is by Dancier also out of a mare with Weltmeyer and Argentan blood, so a similar pedigree to Delorean. Dancier is the sire of 5* eventer Danito (interestingly is out of the same dam as Desperados FRH, so dressage bred, but there appears to be some jumping talent in this line also!)

Danciero 7 is another notable Dancier offspring having an extremely successful career in Young Horse Championships including 2nd place in the Bundes 5yo Finals 2021, 2nd in the World YH Championships Verden 5yo in 2021, 1st in the Denmark National YH Champs 6yo in 2022, Champion of the 7yo Final World YH Championships Ermelo 2023, and Champion of Denmark National YH Champs 7yo 2023. He
is now competing Inter I and II with success! He also has Weltmeyer on the damline, just as Delorean does.

Dancier’s damline brings valuable thoroughbred blood through Lauries Crusador XX son Lancier. Second damsire is the Hanoverian Espri, a notable dual purpose producer that was
successful in showjumping himself.

Delorean’s dam produced three approved stallions: Delorean, Dancier Gold, and Diablo. Dancier Gold is Delorean’s fullbrother and has results at PSG/Inter I. The damsire Weltmeyer is legendary and incredibly valuable for future breeding pedigrees as well as performance. Since 2015, Weltmeyer has
been the damsire of 197 FEI horses competing in Internationally ranked dressage competitions, placing him 3rd in this damsire ranking behind De Niro and Jazz (Hippomundo). The D X W
line combination seen in Delorean is present in many successful competition and breeding horses. Further on the damline is Airport (Argentan), from a mareline that has produced highly successful showjumpers (Jaguar van Paemel, Cashman) as well as FEI Dressage horses (Zucchero (b. Van Olst), De Champ, Donavan). Argentan is also found on the bottom damline of Secret.

Delorean himself has already produced FEI horses and approved stallions. Diafys OLD, by Delorean, placed in the 2022 Final Bundeschampionat for Young Horses as a 6yo, and WON the 7yo Bundes Final in 2023 with a great score of 81+%. Galleria’s Delaurentis FRH (Delorean x Stedinger) came 5th behind Diafys in the 7yo YH Bundeschampionat Final in 2023. Quite impressive to have sired two of the top five 7YOs! Danza del Sol (Delorean x Sandro Hit) placed 1st in the 2022 Bundes 6yo First Qualifier with a score of 8.6, and was also placed in the 5yo classes the year before. Daim is another successful
Delorean offspring, competing in CDIJ competitions in 2024 with success.

Mare Suggestions: Several of Delorean’s successful offspring come from S-Line mares (Sandro Hit, San Amour, Stedinger, Sir Donnerhall). He does not have any F-Line so is a good outcross for these mares. Adding another cross of Donnerhall, preferably via a daughter, can be a good choice with Dancier blood as seen in several successful offspring such as Danciero, who also has F line. Another successful example is Heilines Danciera - F-Line (Furstenball) over a full sister to Dancier, and has two additional Donnerhall daughters.

He should cross well with good Thoroughbred mares that tie in with his Lauries Crusador blood. Delorean could also appeal to eventers with a more blood type mare looking for better movement while hopefully keeping the jumping ability. The Espri/Eiger in Dancier’s pedigree is a strong jumping bloodline, with Espri himself siring 17 1.60 showjumpers (as well as 7 GP Dressage horses!) as is Airport/Argentan.

Delorean has an incredibly solid, tried and tested Hanoverian pedigree that should reliably pass on the qualities of his great ancestors. He is a complete package that could improve many mares, including Thoroughbred mares, and jumping or eventing mares. His offspring (and relatives) are already successful in dressage young horse championships and competing with Junior riders, indicating excellent rideability and temperament. Dancier semen is no longer available to Australia, making
Delorean is an excellent choice instead.
